In Nicaragua, the necessity to combat the problem of energy and domestic health increases every day withthe different economic and health problems that occur in our society.

There is a necessity to develop solutions that satisfy and/or reduce such said situations observed in the improved development of systems already existing or well in the development of new systems through the creation of new technologies that diminish these problems of deforestation  in our production forests of high firewood consumption; implicating strategy creation that better the conditions of people´s lives  and at the same time provides incentive for development of our society to jump to a higher cultural level.

To catch up with this qualitiative and quantative jump forward in our society, in the field of domestic energy, we continue the development of different projects of improved cookstoves, those which were carried out in the 1980s in part by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, NGOs and universities financed under international cooperation and of the proper NGOs.

These projects were based on community participation, through technical capacity-building of users regarding its construction and operation. These were supplied with the necessary donation-quality tools in which would be guaranteed similar construction by a local constructor.

This work scheme delivered a high inversion cost per cookstove, a varied constructive quality, minimal control of the adequately trained users in cookstove handling and a slow development of these programs with the consequences of very low or null impact in the general population.
